This exhibition catalogue was designed for Vadim Kosmatschof's first major retrospective solo show at the New Tretyakov Gallery in Moscow, Russia. The artist, who emigrated from the Soviet Union in 1979, became one of the main proponents of Modernism in Soviet Monumental Art. Kosmatschof is known for producing metal sculptures of unprecedented size aiming to overcome the static character of traditional sculpture.
